Beekman

This Garden Party was inspired by a love affair between BEEKMAN 1802 and D. Landreth Seeds – one that has lasted for 207 years. In 1802 William Beekman sold Landreth Seeds from his mercantile located across from his home, The Beekman Mansion. Today proprietors of Landreth Seeds are the Beekman Mansion’s neighbors. The names Beekman and Landreth seem linked by fate.

This Garden Gate blog will keep you updated on all of the events of this year’s garden party. Check in often, especially during these early days while most gardeners around the country are spending more time planning than planting. If you are lucky enough to live in a warm zone, be sure to visit the party pages to share what’s growing by you. Just don’t gloat. We’re right behind you.

Our brussel sprouts seemed a little stunted this year. Perhaps the lack of sun and warmth this summer drained the energy needed for larger sprouts. But our abundance of these mini-sprouts will see us through January, we hope.
